The Rich Legacy of Darul Arqam School
Beacon for Islamic Education in New Jersey
Since its inception, Darul Arqam School has been one of the strong bastions of Islamic education, implanting knowledge, values, and faith in young minds. The story of this institution began in 1929 when the building was a facility known as the South River Public High School. Decades later, during the fall of 1997, something remarkable began to take shape. Darul Arqam was established with a vision to groom young Muslims in the tender years of their growth, providing them with an education that includes the inculcation of Islamic values and teachings, Quran recitation, Arabic language, and high moral values.
It is the will of Allah, that in the summer of 2002, Darul Arqam acquired its present premises. This was a milestone that began a new chapter, with a complete renovation of the building with support from the local Muslim community who worked relentlessly. Darul Arqam started its functions in September of the same year as a full-time Islamic school offering a complete education, starting from preschool to the eighth grade.
The journey of growth continued, and today, Darul Arqam proudly serves students from nursery to 12th grade, creating a nurturing environment where academic excellence meets spiritual development.

Darul Arqam Islamic School is not just an educational institution; it is a non-public, nonprofit entity concerned with character building for Islamic values and excellence in every student. The mission of the school reflects the collective effort of the founding community and key partners, including the Muslim Center of Middlesex County and the Islamic Society of Monmouth County. It is here that they have built a place where young Muslims can grow into compassionate, confident, and knowledgeable individuals who proudly uphold their faith in every aspect of life.
