Parent memorandum 2026

Dear Respected Parents, 

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh, 

Jazakum Allahu Khairan to all the parents who attended our Back to School Night. We truly appreciate your time and continued support of Darul Arqam School.

We are excited to share that our students will be going on the following field trip:

Apple Picking – Early Childhood students will be going apple picking on October 20, 2026, In Sha Allah.

Crayola Factory – Our Elementary students in Grades 2–5 will be going on a field trip to the Crayola Factory on October 26, 2026.  

Cradle of Aviation- NY : Middle School and High School students will be going on a field trip to NY Aviation on October 29, 2026. 

We have some important dates and information to share with you:

1. Interim Reports – October 1, 2026: Parents will be able to access their child’s Interim Report. 

2. Expression Day – Friday, October 9, 2026: The theme for Expression Day is “Twinzies!” Students are encouraged to dress like twins or triplets with their classmates and friends. Please follow the dress down guidelines stated below

3. MAPs Growth Testing Schedule:  MAP Growth testing will take place in their Class According to the following schedule:

• October 6–8, 2026: Middle School and High School students (Schedule attached.)
• October 13–15, 2026: Elementary students (Schedule attached.)

Starting October 6, students will begin taking their MAP Growth assessments. In Sha Allah, testing should be completed by the end of the month for all students, unless make-up testing or scheduling conflicts require additional time. Children do not need to practice or prepare specifically for the MAP Growth assessment.

4. Book Fair – October 5–9, 2026: Our Book Fair will take place from October 5–9, 2026. Please see the attached schedule for details regarding your child’s grade.

5. PSAT/NMSQT – Saturday, October 17, 2026 : The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Darul Arqam School. Please note that only 10th and 11th grade students will be taking the test at our school.

6. Staff Professional Development – Delayed Opening: We will have a Staff Professional Development Day on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.

School will have a delayed opening at 10:00 AM for students. If the delayed opening creates a difficulty for your family, please email the school so that we can make appropriate arrangements for your child.

7. Senior Umrah Bake Sale: – Oct 22, 2026, We will be having our first Senior Umrah Bake Saleto help support our senior class in raising funds for their upcoming Umrah Trip.

8. Parent Workshop– Oct. 27, 2026 – Beyond the Classroom: Topic – “Rasing Muslims together” – Zoom workshop on Tuesday October 27, 2026, Details will be shared.
