Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at Darul Arqam School
The Parent Teacher Organization is important in building community at Darul Arqam School, including parents, students, teachers, and the administration. This is one of the most valued partners in enhancing the educational and social experiences of all associated with the school. It works by collaborating, volunteering, and communicating openly in ceaseless efforts to better the school environment to be nourishing and supportive for all.
Our Purpose and Goals
The main objective of the PTO is to work in conjunction with parents and students to enrich the overall experience at Darul Arqam, one of the leading Islamic Schools in New Jersey (NJ). This we do through:
- Improve Education: This would be a goal of improving the communication between the families in Darul Arqam and the school through working with the administration and faculty.
- Promote Community: Establish a high sense of belonging and community within the school and outside its walls.
- Encourage Volunteerism: Encourage the parents and students to volunteer time, which would go a long way in touching base with the curriculum, programs, and facilities at school.
This active participation involvement is for the realization of the vision and mission of the School’s growth and development process. Your involvement, either as parents or guardians, is the key to successful objectives toward a vibrant thriving educational community.
How You Can Help
The events and activities of the PTO are supported, and our community relies on them for success. There are several ways you can help contribute to the ongoing success of our school:
- Attend Meetings & Events: We appreciate your attendance at meetings and events at school. Share your suggestions, provide your input, and become part of discussion points aimed at the advancement and continuous improvement of our programs.
- Volunteer: Participate by volunteering to help organize events of interest to you. Volunteer hours can be applied toward your family’s volunteer/ service requirements.
- Encourage Participation: Invite others to join the PTO and participate in all our activities. The more, the merrier, and the more successful we will be!
The spirit of volunteering and parental participation is crucial with regard to our collective excellence, shaping the way the educational experience is created for all our students.

What We've Accomplished Together
We welcome all parents to attend our open meetings held throughout the year. Each meeting starts with a general feedback, ideas, and suggestions session by parents that can be helpful in improving the working of the PTO or may be forwarded to the school administration and the board for consideration.

Being part of the DAS PTO will keep you connected with events and activities at school for easy participation or support, even from a distance.
